How the Hyundai Tucson stacks up against the Honda CR-V
by Nigel Cooper, Topanga CA

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs about the same to get the Honda to the dealership as the Hyundai Tucson. The Hyundai Tucson isn't much less expensive than the Honda CR-V when it comes to MSRP. Regarding purchase cost, the Hyundai Tucson doesn't cost much less than the Honda CR-V.

Utility
There's no clear winner between the Honda CR-V and the Hyundai Tucson when it comes to hauling capacity. The Hyundai and the Honda CR-V can accommodate the same number of passengers. Towing is considerably more the Hyundai's forte than it is the Honda CR-V's.

Comfort
Taller drivers will substantially enjoy the extra head room in the Hyundai Tucson's front cabin compared to the Honda. The Honda CR-V provides more head- and leg-room to your passengers than the Hyundai Tucson does.

Dimensions
The Honda CR-V is somewhat heavier than the Tucson. The Honda CR-V's tank is roughly the same size as the Hyundai Tucson's, though the Hyundai's is a bit more capacious. The Hyundai and the Honda CR-V compete for the same parking spaces.

Handling
The Hyundai Tucson and the Honda CR-V have roughly similar tires. With their comparable turning circles, the Honda CR-V and the Hyundai Tucson very likely handle about the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Honda's engine is somewhat smaller than the Tucson's, but not terribly so.

Overview
The basic after-sale protection that comes with the CR-V isn't quite as generous as the Hyundai's.

The beautiful, idyllic Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts used to be one of the world's best kept secrets. But now, more and more companies are choosing to expand here creating jobs, and increasing opportunities for all. Simply telling the good news of this region's lower costs and great quality of life to the right corporate decision makers, is attracting strong interest.

The eastern part of Massachusetts, including the Cape Cod peninsula and the islands lying off it to the south—the Elizabeth Islands, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket—is a low coastal plain. In this area short, swift rivers such as the Merrimack have long supplied industry with power, and an indented coastline provides many good natural harbors, with Boston a major U.S. port. In the interior rise uplands separated by the rich Connecticut River valley, and farther west lies the Berkshire valley, surrounded by the Berkshire Hills, part of the Taconic Mts. The western streams feed both the Hudson and the Housatonic rivers. The state has a mean altitude of c.500 ft (150 m), and Mt. Greylock in the Berkshires is the highest point (3,491 ft/1,064 m). The climate is variable.

Boston is the capital and largest city. Other important cities include Worcester, Springfield, Lowell, New Bedford, Cambridge, Brockton, Fall River, and Quincy. The state is famed for its historic points of interest, among them being those at Sturbridge, Concord, and Lexington; at three national historical parks—Boston, Lowell, and Minute Man; and at eight national historic sites—Adams, Boston African American, Frederick Law Olmsted, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Longfellow, Salem Maritime, Saugus Iron Works, and Springfield Armory (see National Parks and Monuments, table). Cultural attractions include the noted Tanglewood music festival (see Berkshire Festival) and the many educational facilities of the state.

As a recreation and vacation land, Massachusetts has great stretches of seashore in the east and many lakes and streams in the wooded Berkshire Hills in the west. There are numerous state parks, forests, and beaches, and Cape Cod is the site of a national seashore. Provincetown, on Cape Cod, and Rockport, on Cape Ann, are artist colonies; Marblehead is a noted yachting center.

Western Massachusetts in the Connecticut River Valley. Bordered by West Springfield on the south; Westfield, Southampton, and Easthampton on the west; and separated from South Hadley and Chicopee by the Connecticut River on the east. Holyoke is 90 miles west of Boston; 34 miles north of Hartford, Connecticut; and 142 miles from New York City.

Massachusetts is the most populous of the New England states of the Northeast United States. It is bordered by New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.

Gary Rome Hyundai is located in Holyoke, which is in Hampden County. We are just minutes away from Route 91, 20 minutes outside of Springfield, MA and under an hour from Hartford, CTHolyoke is home to the Holyoke Mall at Ingleside, one of the biggest shopping malls in New England.

On February 9, 1895, William G. Morgan invented volleyball at a YMCA in Holyoke. It is also sometimes claimed that basketball shares volleyball's Holyoke origins, but, nonetheless, the credit goes to neighboring Springfield.

Holyoke is also the home of the second largest St. Patrick's Day parade in the United States. Held annually on the Sunday following St. Patrick's Day, the parade draws thousands of people from across the region and nation.
